01The problem

Helping patients choose a dentist with confidence

Most patients choose a dentist on their phone, and they look for three things first: the phone number, the location and what the doctor looks like. Local clinic websites often hide all three behind stock photos and generic promises.

Patients in Chiniot also book differently. Most contact clinics on WhatsApp, and many worry about cost before they worry about anything else.

02How it works

From search to booking

  1. The treatments page: each treatment with its visits, numbing and recovery.
    01

    Find the treatment

Seven treatment pages, each with the visits it takes, whether it needs numbing and the recovery time.

  2. The fees page: the Rs 500 consultation and treatment prices by category.
    02

    See the cost

A fees page with the Rs 500 consultation and a written price before any treatment starts.

  3. The emergency page on a phone: “In pain? Call us first.” with Call and WhatsApp buttons.
    03

    Get in touch

Book by WhatsApp or phone from any page. An emergency page tells patients in pain what to do now.

  • Treatment pages

Seven treatments, each with visits, numbing, recovery, costs and common questions.

  • Transparent fees

The consultation price up front and how every other price is confirmed in writing.

  • WhatsApp booking

A WhatsApp button with ready-made first messages, and click-to-call on phones.

  • An emergency page

When to go to hospital, what to do now and how to reach the clinic today.

  • Live opening hours

Open or closed right now, with hours set around prayer times as the clinic keeps them.

  • Local search setup

Dentist structured data, a page per treatment and a verifiable PM&DC registration.

03Key decisions

What shaped the product

  1. Explained first

The practice tells patients what is wrong, what the options are and what each costs before treatment. The site works the same way: treatment pages read like a good patient leaflet, and nothing is hidden behind “contact us”.

  2. No stock faces of clinicians

On a single-dentist site any clinician in a photo reads as the dentist. Stock photos of other clinicians would mislead patients, so the site shows only Dr Hamza himself.

  3. WhatsApp as the main way in

Patients in Pakistan mostly contact clinics on WhatsApp, so it is a first-class booking path on every page, not a link buried in the footer.

  4. No invented facts

Anything not yet confirmed by the clinic was marked as pending and kept out of the published site and its structured data, so no guessed address, price or review ever went live.

04Under the hood

How it was built

A static site built with Astro and strict TypeScript, with hand-written CSS and only small scripts for menus, motion and live opening hours. Every business fact lives in one file, structured data describes the practice to search engines, and each page is checked for accessibility, layout and broken links before release.

Astro · TypeScript · CSS · axe-core · Vercel

Technical details
Framework
Astro, building a fully static site: fast to load and simple to host.

Search
Dentist, Person, WebSite and breadcrumb structured data that matches the visible pages.
Accessibility
Automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at six screen widths.

06Lessons

What we learned

  1. 1. Research the patients, not the competitors

The most useful input came from how patients actually choose and contact a dentist, not from other clinic websites, most of which follow the same template.

  2. 2. Say each thing once

Early versions repeated the same reassurance in several sections. Cutting each idea down to one place made the pages shorter and easier to trust.

  3. 3. Facts decide the schedule

Design and code were finished well before the clinic’s details were confirmed. Planning for that wait kept the launch honest.
